Photos of our crafts for the 2016 -2017 school year!

I was going to be super productive, and include tutorials and tips and tricks for the crafts we’ve done at school this year, but, I figured I’d save your inboxes, from being spammed with too many posts. So you’re just going to get a little description with each photo.

The month of November, we taught the kids about thankfulness. We had them make little feather hats, like those the native American’s would have worn, and hats that the pilgrims would have worn. Both of these projects were easy. For the feather hat, we pre-cut the feathers, and allowed the kids to color and decorate the band, then glue their feathers on. We stapled them to fit the kiddo’s head.

Pilgrim hat, was even easier, they just had to glue the yellow square to the front.

November also was a month of placemats! We had the kiddos create their own placemats, and though we gave them an example of where things should go, we don’t coach them, we allow them to place the pieces where THEY feel fit.

December, we made these great little shepherds. We covered toilet paper rolls in brown paper, and let the kids design their own faces, then we helped them place the hat and arms on the little shepherd.

Jumping back to October, we did these pumpkins! They just glued the guts of a freshly cut pumpkin onto the paper. We had a whole discussion about the texture, smell and temperature of the pumpkin guts. They loved this one!

November, we did a thankful cross. We had them glue the pieces of square construction paper to the cross, with the things they said they were thankful for.

December! Three Kings! We focused a lot on Jesus’ birth, and one week, we talked about the three Kings, or wiseman, and the gifts they brought for jesus. They glued the precut shapes to their paper, and loved the talk about the kings!

Jesus’ birth! This one is probably one of the cutest crafts we’ve done.

img_7057

We had pre-wrapped the baby jesus’ and they just had to glue the Popsicle sticks and hay to the paper, then they glued baby Jesus, as you can see by the photo above we don’t coach the kiddos on what to do, we let them use their own creativity and individuality.

January! We did penguins! We talked about penguins and where they live, how they walk and what they eat. Then, they painted a glue/white paint mixture with these sponges I found at Daiso. Then they stuck the pre-cut feet, beaks, and some cotton balls to make their penguins fluffy.

Snowy Owls! This craft is so cute, so easy and SO fun! All the parents and kids love this one.

img_9025

It’s easy, The kids tear apart cotton balls, stuff them in the pinecone, add eyes and a beak and thats it!

img_9027

The owls are attached with some playdough, to a piece of paper for easy transportation home.

img_9032

Snowman puppets! Easy. Glue hats, eyes, carrot nose, hat and cotton balls onto a paper bag! I went through after and drew a smile on each of them.

img_9202

Brown bear, Brown Bear, what do you see? we were out of brown paint, so my co-worker and I mixed gold paint with red and orange to get these cute little sparkly bears! Easy, and the bodies, faces, ears, and tails are all paper plates!

img_9262

Foxes! I found this one on pinterest, and it did not disappoint. The students painted glue on their pre-cut paper plate and glued tissue paper squares and the ears and the nose, they eyes are stickers :).

img_9260

We punched a hole in the top, and attached some orange ribbon to hang them!

Llama llama in red pajamas! Easy! The kids colored their llama and his PJ’s and then glued parts of his special quilt!

2 years!!

It’s hard to believe that two years ago at 20 after 10 in the morning I got a phone call letting me know that a precious baby girl was on the way! This afternoon that same precious baby will be turning 2 years old. I would have never imagined just how much I could have fallen in love with her. Just how hilarious she’d be and just how much she’d impact my life.

This is for you Sweet little Miss. May all your dreams come true, and no boy EVER break your wonderful little heart.

Goodbyes REALLY stink!

Look at that face. That precious beautiful flawless innocent face. How can you NOT fall in love with her simply from this photo?

Today I had to say goodbye to her and her mamma for two weeks. Last Friday I had to say goodbye to her two brothers and dad on Friday. I’m grateful I had two days just me and Little Miss, but I’m going to miss them SOOO MUCH!!

I’m sad because I know in the two weeks she’s gone she’ll grow 10 feet and it’ll seem like she’s aged 10 years! I bought her two Disney Princess Placemats for her birthday, AND a customized Sing Along with Elmo CD. (Her birthday isn’t for another couple of weeks, but I cannot believe she’s almost 2!!!)

Just a slow day in WA!

9:44am. Little Miss is still asleep. The boys are playing Skylander(?) on the WII. I think we’ll have a SLOW do nothing day today. Probably let the boys play Wii for longer, until some of the neighbor kids come out to play. Both boys cried this AM when they realized the girls were gone. Made me cry. I cried myself to sleep last night. I swear, something must be wrong with me! I just miss them so much!!
