I haven’t posted in a while, I’m sorta in-between figuring out what exactly I want to do with this blog. I’ve been thinking about re-vamping it – and even considered moving it to another host site, but I still haven’t been able to figure out exactly what I want to do.
Maybe, I’ll work on finalizing that tonight. For now, you get a personal post.
Not much is going on here, just the same old same old. Getting ready for the school year, we aren’t allowed to go into our classrooms yet to set-up, but we’ve been working on getting everything else together. I’m incredibly excited to meet all the students this year! I’ve been lucky to build great relationships with the students and their parents so far.
In other news… My birthday came and went, and it was wonderful. I am so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful people in my life. Mitchell and I have been able to build a wonderful and strong little family with our group of friends. One of our incredibly wonderful friends made me Quidditch themed birthday cakes!
Things we did for my birthday:
Spent the day relaxing at Alki
Had a fun game night with all 12 friends who were able to join us
Spent another day on Lake Washington
Went hunting for Pokemon with our friends Katy and Adam
Had another game night with our friends Katy and Adam, and Katy (who also made the Quidditch cake) also made me homemade kettle corn (YUM!)
My co-worker made me chocolate covered strawberries
I read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child with my oldest friend, Allyson
It’s safe to say, I was incredibly spoiled, yet again. I don’t know how I managed to get so lucky!
Today is a special day, it’s the day of my wonderful Auntie Bea’s birthday. We lost her last year, if you recall. Today she’s on my mind a little more than usual.
I know she’s with her family each and every day, but I feel her presence as well. I truly believe she was with us on easter when we went out to have our easter egg hunt and discovered 30k bees swarming in the back yard. She was watching over us as we moved the bees into a swarm box. No one got stung and I believe it’s because she was watching out for us. I know she would have loved Mitchell and he would have seen just exactly why she was such a huge part of my childhood.
Happy Birthday to you, Auntie Bea. I hope you’re up there partying, with your underpants on your head banging pots and pans to celebrate!
Yesterday (August 2) was my birthday. My mom and Nieces are in town and that is amazing all in its own, but the fact that they were here for my birthday just makes everything that much better. I only get to see them once a year, and so though the time is amazing, we are constantly dreading the goodbyes. We had originally planned a birthday party for me, but only 1 person said they could come, and then my family decided to stay one extra night…so I put it off. At this rate, it probably won’t happen at all but it’s okay because my two favorite girls are here, and thats all I need.
On a side note, it amazes me how no matter what, no matter how hard you work, and how much you try some people will never notice or care about you. Not in the way you’d like.
It’s been almost 5 years and for some reason I still strive to make 4 people happy. I try to include them in our lives, we celebrate holidays and birthdays with them, we invite them over for dinner and games and pay for everything… we invite them to do fun activities with us (like canoeing) and yet… they can never take the time out of their “busy” life to invite us to anything, reply to texts or even care about what is going on with us.
I think this is the most awful and most stressful feeling ever. I cannot and will not ever understand how or why you’d be able or want to do that to someone in your family and someone who means the world to them. But I can tell you from this end, I’ve shed far too many tears, I’ve stressed to much and I need to stop.
I would DIE if my family acted like that. I’d call them out, and point out their errors and hypocrisy(did i spell that right?) I would never let them get away with it, but I also know that that would NEVER happen.
I guess the point to that rant was simply to get it off my chest. Sometimes I wish I didn’t care…. sometimes I wish it didn’t matter but it does.
Also, I love having my family here. I have an amazing beautiful and wonderful family. I couldn’t be luckier in that department of my life!
It’s hard to believe that two years ago at 20 after 10 in the morning I got a phone call letting me know that a precious baby girl was on the way! This afternoon that same precious baby will be turning 2 years old. I would have never imagined just how much I could have fallen in love with her. Just how hilarious she’d be and just how much she’d impact my life.
This is for you Sweet little Miss. May all your dreams come true, and no boy EVER break your wonderful little heart.
For me at least 🙂
I’ve been 25 for 2 days, and it’s been awesome! We were supposed to have company this weekend, and show them around Seattle, buuut they decided last minute they didn’t want to come, so we altered our plans a bit. I have to say so far, we have had a FANTASTIC weekend. YAY weekends!
Thursday was my birthday, work was well work haha. The kids and I packed up some boxes of un-used toys, played outside a bit, and went to Starbucks. At Starbucks my little Monster decided he was going to sing happy birthday to me, HIGHLIGHT of my day. Nothing is sweeter than a 4 year old singing happy birthday, with his 1 year old sister repeating “HAPPY KEE HAPPY KEE” it really was delightful.
Then that evening we had reservations at Lot No. 3 in Bellevue. Otherwise known as the “Man Cave.” A bunch of people came and we had a blast. If you’re ever in Bellevue Lot No. 3 is the greatest! Candied Bacon? Uh yes please. Delicious popcorn? SUPER yes. Waffles? YUM. Chicken and Waffles, Idk i didn’t try it haha. Peanut Butter, Jelly and Bacon. YES (don’t order it anymore though, its $4 and you get one TINY slider. sooo not worth it.) Grilled Cheese with home made tomato soup and home made chips? Best birthday dinner ever.
Great friends made the evening amazing. Then last night we kicked off SeaFair weekend with a game of Cards against Humanity (Which I got in my last Reddit Gift Exchange.)
I’ll fill you in on the rest of this weekend tomorrow or Monday. For now? PHOTOS.
Getting ready to leave!
Will! I met him about 5 or 6 years ago at the midnight showing of Harry Potter and either Order of the Phoenix or Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I don’t remember which one it was, but it was AGES ago. He’s great!
Thomas! I’ve known him for 10 years? He’s a great best friend (sorta…lol) we love him!
Mike, me, Thomas, Jessica and EverSoLightly
Mike and I being…silly?
EverSoLightly and myself 🙂
Look at that face. That precious beautiful flawless innocent face. How can you NOT fall in love with her simply from this photo?
Today I had to say goodbye to her and her mamma for two weeks. Last Friday I had to say goodbye to her two brothers and dad on Friday. I’m grateful I had two days just me and Little Miss, but I’m going to miss them SOOO MUCH!!
I’m sad because I know in the two weeks she’s gone she’ll grow 10 feet and it’ll seem like she’s aged 10 years! I bought her two Disney Princess Placemats for her birthday, AND a customized Sing Along with Elmo CD. (Her birthday isn’t for another couple of weeks, but I cannot believe she’s almost 2!!!)

In my last couple posts I mentioned some good times we’ve had celebrating my birthday and hanging out with friends. I’ve since discovered that recently (in the past year at least) Facebook is now allowing people to embed videos! YAY! Sooo what does that mean? Well for most of you nothing, but for people like my wonderful big brother, it means I can share some of the awesome videos I’ve mentioned! YAY…haha. I’ve posted them on the “stuff” page of the website mentioned in the above paragraph.
Last Sunday (a week ago yesterday) Mitchell and I went to the local mall with our semi-busy-non-existent roommate to bond like we use to. We stumbled across a (well what we thought) ordinary photobooth, which turned out to be a photobooth
extraordinaire of the year 2010. I guess now days they include a “password” and website where you can ACTUALLY download your photos and watch a video of yourselves posing for each photo. Seems like they’re trying to make it worth the full $5.00 we paid, which is actually pretty dang cool if you ask me!! I went exploring on their website today and (obviously) watched our rather ridiculous video and downloaded the photos. I think we may have to go back again soon, its kinda fun to do random things like that!
Tomorrow we’re going to the beach with our friend Jessica, and I’m really looking forward to that, but in order to survive tomorrow I need sleep. So goodnight world. May you all be nice and cool, instead of roasting like we are 😦
